Gentle Confrontation is Loraine James’ third album on Hyperdub. This is a new chapter in her real life and her sound life, so to speak. She examines the past and present. 'Gentle Confrontation' is a positive, languid, slow set of songs. Very pleasant, but also disjointed and loose in a melodic way. A personal and musical leap forward, delivering a totally unique vision of electronic pop music. Many ideas emerged as James revisited the music she listened to as a teenager: math-rock and emo electronica like Dntel, Lusine and Telefon Tel Aviv.
